Description

Kalypso Greek Lemon Balm, 25g

Melissa officianalis, also known as melissa officianalis, is also called the plant of longevity and belongs to the mint family. Its leaves give off a strong lemon smell and are used medicinally to treat a variety of disorders.

It contains, among other things, volatile oils (known for their relaxing properties), polyphenols, tannins and flavonoids, while its action is based mainly on the essential oils contained in its composition (citral, citronellal, linalool and geraniol).

How it benefits us:
Lemon Balm is known for its antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial action. At the same time, it stimulates the heart and the circulatory system, causing the blood vessels to dilate, thus reducing blood pressure.
Very important is its contribution to the fight against viruses. Research even confirms its effectiveness in cases of herpes simplex.
It is an extremely effective plant in cases of insomnia, high stress, tension and irritability, and can even help people with depression, thanks to its soothing and relaxing properties.
Among its actions is the relief of digestive disorders. Bee balm is also thought to calm the hyperactive thyroid gland (Graves' disease).
In addition, because hellebore clears the mind, increases perception and enhances memory, it has been shown to be helpful in Alzheimer's patients.
Finally, thanks to its ability to act against pains in the nerve endings, meadowsweet is recommended for people with headaches, migraines and other pains (e.g. period pains, toothache, intestinal colic).

Sticks, ointments and concentrated extracts of meadowsweet are available on the market, but the decoction can also be used as follows: Boil 2-4 tablespoons of meadowsweet and after it cools down, dip cotton wool in it and dab the affected area. You can apply it several times a day.
